Editing : Test Edit Proof

Before we started editing our raw footage we did a test edit of old footage. We did this because we were used to using iMovie rather than Premire Pro, so we had to learn how to edit, add transactions, titles and remove the sound.

We used the help bar to show us how to find and use the title bar.

This is the help bar showing us where the title tool is.

This is where we dragged the footage across to edit it.

These are the different effects we tested on our edit, seeing
which looked good and which looked out of place.

This is our footage cut and dragged from the video extract.

This is us adding in sound and editing parts.

We then decided our test edit needed a title.

This is the title editor where we decided to add the title onto of the opening footage.

By using the type tool we added the title where we then cound start editing the font, the size and the colour.

Production Company Logo : Testing

On Premiere Pro we decided to test ideas for our production company logo. We had the idea that we wanted a black blood spattered background with the writing on top. This was done by adding a background and then adding a texture to the background and adding the chosen image.

Creating the new title for our production company logo

Making the name of the new title the same as our production company
name.

We first tried using a black font, but realised it wasn't that effective or scary as white would be. Also white has a greater symbolism within possession film.

So once we had realised this we tested several different fonts, deciding against the first one all together as it was too western styled. However, the other two fonts worked well, as the looked sharp and stood out against the background. The white symbolising innocence, youth and virginity; contrasting greatly against the dark themes of the background, just as the film itself does.

Production : Raw Footage

This was the first lot of raw footage uploaded onto the computer, we did it via iMovie, then exported it to my desktop, so we could just upload it to Premiere Pro together as a small film so it would be less difficult truing to find specific pieces of footage when editing.

We found this to be the easiest way and most efficient of transferring the raw footage.

This was our second lot of raw footage. We created a new event for it so we wouldn't mix up the first lot of raw footage with the second. Once the footage had been imported to iMovie we created a new project for it and transferred all of it into there then exported the lot onto my desktop.

This is our third lot of raw footage we added, doing the same with it as we did the others.

This is are forth and final lot of footage, we needed this for the sound as it is our exorcism voice over, so we transferred this from our camera to my computer, then doing the same as we did with the other footage.

From my desktop where I had saved all of our raw footage, I made a folder for the footage and left the folder on my desktop, so the raw footage could be easily found when we started editing and needed to transfer it across to Premiere Pro.
